Types of Lenses

Laurier Optical lenses are manufactured in Ottawa, Canada by some of the industry’s preeminent experts. Our high customer service standards are echoed in the high-quality lenses we have been providing our patients for years. We ensure that our lens designs and materials offer optimal performance and adaptation to accommodate your vision needs.

Single Vision Lenses

Single vision lenses are designed to correct one problem at a time. Whether you need correction for farsightedness, nearsightedness, or astigmatism, this single optical prescription correction lens offers a simple solution.

Progressive Lenses

Progressive lenses are designed to correct multiple problems at once. Their complex design combines up to three different optical prescriptions on the surface of a single lens enabling you to use one pair of glasses for all of your tasks simultaneously. With our advanced progressive lens designs, there is no longer a need to switch glasses between activities such as reading, driving and working at the computer; progressives are our most versatile lenses

Polarized Sun Lenses

Polarized sunglass lenses use chemical filtration technology that refracts bright incoming light to almost completely eliminate glare. These sunglasses are nearly essential for boaters and fishermen, because of the intense glare created by light reflecting off the water. However, they are also very helpful for outdoors people, athletes, golfers, bikers, and anyone else who spends a lot of time outdoors. Additionally, polarized lenses help reduce eye stress for professional drivers who spend many hours on the road; light reflecting off the road and other cars can cause the effect of glare.

Lens Coatings and thickness

Lens coatings ensure that you are maximizing the life of your new pair of glasses. Scratch resistant hard-coats and hydrophobic & oleophobic treatments guarantee that your lenses are free from dust, dirt, grease, fingerprints, water spots and other debris stay off your lenses. Furthermore, anti-reflective (AR) treatment allows light to pass freely through the lens to reduce glare and enhance the visual clarity of your glasses. Lens thinning treatments ensure that your lenses are thin and light for the most comfort and a sleek look.

At Laurier Optical, we provide our patients with the highest quality lenses and lens treatments, and we know you’ll feel a world of a difference with the treatments we provide.
